FEMA Mining and Drilling Limited is on the hunt for a Project Superintendent to join our mining business at Buckreef Site Project, working on 6weeks on and 2 weeks off roster from Katoro Geita Mwanza.

The Project Superintendent is primarily accountable to the Operations of Site Services, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of contract site services operations, this could include drill and blast, load & haul, crusher feed, haul road maintenance, site civil works and all project operational delivery. The role has responsibility for ensuring site operate in accordance with company process, cost management and maximising fleet returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Performance Management – Oversee, mentor, and develop operational leaders, ensuring effective team performance and alignment with business objectives.
- Operational Coordination – Plan, allocate, and manage resources to meet production, safety, and cost targets, while working closely with site leadership and stakeholders. Provide technical assistance and ensure daily operations meet FEMAs safety and efficiency standards
- Training & Development – Promote a culture of continuous learning by overseeing workforce training programs, competency development, and compliance with site and industry standards.
- Ensure Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Compliance – Promote and monitor adherence to safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, fostering a proactive safety culture practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Maintain open communication with clients and internal teams to understand needs and ensure aligned execution.
- Financial & Contractual Awareness – Oversee cost control, operational budgets, and contractual obligations to drive efficiency and value.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for sustainable business improvements and manage change effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum of 10 years’ production supervisory experience in an open pit mining environment.
- Proven experience in effective management and administration of the project.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial management and strong planning skills.
- Commitment, respect, and compliance to the FEMA safety, health and environmental policies.
- The ability to build key stakeholder relationships.
- Proven contract mining experience.
- The ability to monitor overall performance to ensure targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
- Proven experience in providing accurate, timely and effective progress reports.
