We are looking for an Agronomist.
Responsibilities :

• Developing better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems for farmers.
• Researching and promoting agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage.
• Ensure new developments in crop varieties, disease and pest control, crop rotation, and tillage systems are implemented in farming.
• Working with farmers to determine the best method of improving crop production.
• Keeping detailed records regarding fields, farmers and crops.
• Developing planting and irrigation plans, schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Assesses crop production on the farm.
• Develop demonstrations farms that farmers will learn within the project area.
• Boost crop yields but also control pests and weeds and protect the environment.

• Responsible for the documentation of project reports, including but not limited to monthly and quarterly reports.

• Practical Skills: Hands-on experience in farming, field work, and laboratory techniques is invaluable. This practical knowledge allows you to apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Agronomists often face challenges such as pest outbreaks, soil degradation, and climate change. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary to develop innovative solutions.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for interacting with farmers, industry professionals, and the public. Clear and concise communication is essential for conveying complex scientific information.
• Business Acumen: Agronomists may need to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and understand market trends. A basic understanding of business principles can be beneficial.
