JOB DETAILS:
Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Contract Duration: Nine months
Application Deadline: November 12, 2024.
Position: ADC Tanzania Ltd would like to recruit a competent Intern– Agribusiness for the duration of a nine-month period.
Key Tasks:
• Support in assessing technology and marketing needs for grantees.
• Collaborate with grantee boards to identify key project stakeholders.
• Gather data on improved technologies, including sources and costs.
• Conduct market analysis to understand conditions and competition.
• Assist grantees in developing Terms of References (TORs) for training and technical support.
• Aid in evaluating trainers and consultants and support training in value chain management.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Assist grantees in acquiring equipment and materials, promoting cost savings.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, and develop Technology Analysis for ongoing projects.
• Document grantee profiles, submit quarterly reports, and ensure timely fund use.
• Prepare and submit Annual Work Plans and Monthly Activity Reports.
• Conduct market research, refine marketing strategies, support product development, and build connections with buyers.
• Provide training in advanced agricultural practices and sustainable agriculture.
• Assist with quality standards, financial resource acquisition, and implementing monitoring frameworks.
• Organize capacity-building workshops and maintain records of technical assistance.
Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
• Experience in agribusiness development, project management, and working with cooperatives or development agencies.
• Skills in market analysis, supply chain, and value chain development.
• Proven ability to conduct training and environmental assessments.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation related to agriculture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in project proposal development and report writing.
• Familiarity with sustainable agricultural practices and financial management.
• Digital literacy in farm management software and market information systems.
Personal Attributes:
• Commitment to development goals and improving smallholder livelihoods.
• High integrity and ethical standards, with a willingness to travel to rural locations.
