The Barman will be responsible for preparing beverages, managing stock, and providing outstanding customer service at the camp’s bar. The Maintenance position involves ensuring the upkeep of all camp facilities, handling repairs, and managing technical equipment. The Camp Manager will oversee the overall camp operations, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of service. BARMAN (2 POSITION)
Reports: Bar Manager/Restaurant Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Barman with over two years of experience in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch bar services, preparing a variety of beverages, and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our guests. The Barman should possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes or customized requests from customers.
2. Engage with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, ensuring their experience at the bar is enjoyable. Address guest inquiries, suggestions, and complaints professionally.
3. Ensure the bar is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies at all times. This includes cleaning glasses, bar tools, and equipment.
4. Monitor bar inventory levels and communicate with management regarding stock needs. Assist in restocking and ordering supplies when required.
5. Manage cash registers, process payments accurately, and handle transactions, including opening and closing duties.
6. Comply with food safety, alcohol service regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of both guests and staff.
7. Present beverages in a visually appealing manner to enhance the guest experience, keeping in line with the establishment’s standards.
8. Collaborate with kitchen staff, waiters, and management to provide seamless service and support during busy shifts.
9. Operate bar tools and equipment, including blenders, mixers, and pourers. Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions to management.
10. Keep up-to-date with new drink recipes, trends in the beverage industry, and seasonal specials to enhance the bar’s offerings.
11. Recommend beverages, upsell premium drinks, and promote any specials or new cocktails to guests.
12. Assist in opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stock checks, and ensuring everything is in place for the next shift.
13. Adhere to alcohol serving guidelines and laws, such as verifying age requirements and monitoring guest consumption.
14. Assist with special events, including setting up, preparing signature cocktails, and providing bar services for private functions or large parties.
15. Address any guest issues or bar-related challenges swiftly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Barman or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Proven experience with drink preparation, bartending techniques, and beverage presentation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of bar tools, equipment, and cocktail recipes.
• Must be detail-oriented, with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Certification in alcohol service (such as TIPS or similar) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of inventory management and basic mathematics for handling cash and balancing registers.
