Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at The Overhang. The ideal candidate excels in executing dishes to perfection and possesses a meticulous approach to culinary craftsmanship. With a background working abroad or training under Western chefs, particularly from Europe, the Head Chef will uphold high standards of quality and efficiency while ensuring adherence to HACCP guidelines and kitchen management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Recipe Execution:
- Execute dishes according to standardized recipes with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion sizes across all menu items.
- Adapt to dynamic kitchen environments and manage multiple orders efficiently.
Kitchen Management:
- Uphold HACCP rules and regulations to ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Establish and enforce kitchen protocols, including proper hygiene practices, ingredient handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Lead by example in demonstrating the importance of following recipes and maintaining consistency in execution.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff in executing recipes accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct training sessions to reinforce the importance of recipe adherence, proper cooking techniques, and teamwork.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment where staff are motivated to excel in their roles.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory management tasks, including stock control, ordering, and maintaining appropriate levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor inventory usage and wastage to minimize costs and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory needs and potential sourcing opportunities.
