- What’s my job title? Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)
- Where in the world? You can work remotely from The Netherlands, Spain, or Portugal.
- Working hours? For this role, you will operate within Central European Time (CET)
- What language(s) will I speak? Fluency in English
You’ll be part of a team that builds and operates foundational infrastructure that will underpin the applications used by MessageBird’s global customer base. Using your knowledge, skill and expertise you will be responsible for shaping and influencing the infrastructure powering MessageBird products and services for the next 10 years.
Alongside your colleagues in infrastructure teams throughout the company, you’ll focus on core areas around containerization, service orchestration, CI/CD, observability, developer experience, and networking.
What You’ll Do
- Be the subject-matter-expert for the evolution of our AWS platform by shaping the architecture and establishing core principles that we use across multiple AWS services
- Build resilient, scalable and secure cloud infrastructures & change management services on top of AWS
- Optimize developer workflows through tooling and automation to increase the flexibility of the platform, particularly specializing in Infrastructure as Code by CDK with Typescript.
- Expand Engineering team’s knowledge of AWS solutions, its infrastructure, principles and performance through mentoring and presenting

What You’ll Bring
- An innovative mindset with the ability to challenge and influence the future roadmap of the AWS platform
- Prior experience of designing, deploying, and scaling production infrastructure for consumer and enterprise facing products
- Deep knowledge of AWS cloud-based infrastructure and solutions, its principles and performance, with proven track record over a variety of projects and implementations
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Experience with container management systems, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is preferred
- A strong drive for continuous improvement and ability to think on your feet to overcome challenges
- Experience with designing, deploying, and scaling production environments at a very large scale is a bonus
