Overall Objective
The Programmes Coordinator will be responsible for the overall day to day running of the projects, including coordination, planning, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of all project activities. This position is based in Arusha Tanzania. The Programmes Coordinator will provide technical, administrative, research, and project support for the Reforestation Foundation projects in Tanzania. They will support project implementation by ensuring that project activities are implemented in a timely and well-coordinated manner with all stakeholders and partners. With support from the leadership team, the coordinator will support capacity building initiatives for various stakeholders and engage in technical meetings on topical issues around reforestation, climate change, and carbon markets.
Additionally, the Programmes Coordinator will provide administrative support to organize conference calls and team meetings; manage agendas, logistics, minutes, and reporting. They will also support the M&E elements of the project.
Responsibilities
Aids in support of planning and implementation activities/processes for, typically, nationwide projects to rehabilitate, reforest, conserve, and restore degraded forest land to healthy indigenous forest ecosystems project initiatives.
Develop the projects’ monthly, quarterly and annual work plans and budgets, and draw projects’ monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports.
Assists in the coordination of project planning and preparation; monitors status of project proposals; Liaise with the finance, procurement and accounts units to ensure that project expenditure, procurement and accounting reports are done in a timely and effective manner.
Assists in the preparation and analysis of project budget proposals; aids in the interpretation of budget guidelines; reviews and coordinates submissions of projects proposals and budget estimates.
Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of projects; categorizes, updates, tracks and analyses data related to projects, e.g. accounting records, outputs, resources utilized, deviations/revisions; initiates financial authorizations for expenditures.
Serves as focal point for coordination, monitoring and expedition of project implementation activities, involving extensive liaison with forest adjacent communities, a diverse government, prepare standard terms of reference against project objectives, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions and resolve issues related to project implementation, e.g. recruitment and appointment of personnel.
Prepares, maintains and updates files electronic and paper and internal databases; designs and generates a variety of periodic and ad hoc reports, statistical tables, graphic content, and other background materials/notes to facilitate inspection and other reviews.
Drafts correspondence and communications related to all aspects of project administration, including work plan and budgets, revisions and other related issues; among other duties
