In our Service business unit, we are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager for OT to join our dynamic and engaged Operational Excellence (‘OE’) department, which is part of Global Operations. The Operational Excellence department is responsible for definition and deployment of standard processes and tools for Service Operations and drive continuous improvement activities. The interface and collaboration with global functions and regions within Siemens Gamesa is key to the success of our OE team.

  • The selected candidate will join our ‘Operational Applications & Digitalization’ team in OE, who is responsible to drive IT and OT Transition towards One consolidated and harmonized solution for Operations business based on our Operational Framework .To improve our competitiveness while growing faster than the market by creating additional value by implementing innovative digital solutions aiming for an increased safety & productivity of Operations business in the field and in the back office.
  • As an Portfolio Manager for OT, it will be your responsibility to ensure the development and deployment of digital End-to-End OT solutions in and for Service Operations. Following different developments in SGRE Innovation, PLM@SGRE process or in the relevant Agile Release Trains according to SAFe you will be joining the different projects representing Service Operations to mainly ensure implementation of OPS specific requirements and to ensure set-up of operational concepts for the different developments. You will be responsible to ensure E2E integration between our OT landscape and our existing and future IT landscape and architecture to ensure business operation and stability. Therefore, as part of our IT Business Collaboration Model you will be representing the Global Process Owner for SCM - Service in the respective capability cluster for “Managing Digital Services”. The scope of this role will mainly cover OT developments, SCADA and turbine control systems but is not limited to this. The role will be directly reporting to the Head of Operational Applications & Digitalization.

More specifically your key tasks will include – but not limited – to:

  • Representation of Service Operations in development projects such as:
    • Turbine Control and Software
    • Power Plant Solutions
    • Digital Innovation
  • Development of operational and functional concept for Service Operations for new digital products
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing with regions to ensure feedback loops to and from development process
  • Facilitate broad alignment in Service Operations regarding new product introduction
  • Support in building business cases that evaluate full operational impacts of new solutions/products
  • Recommend how new products should be implemented and coordinate the operational input from product requirement specification
  • Review and approval of relevant DSA – Digital Solution Agreements for new products
  • Act as Business Owner of Receiving Party in all relevant Agile Release Trains covering relevant OT developments in TE and CT&S joining the relevant ceremonies according to SAFe.
  • Provide input to back log management to relevant Product Managers and to address business priorities
  • Request and add User Stories and features to back log in the different Agile Release Trains in close alignment with the different Product Managers and Product Owners.
  • Prioritize and steer relevant IT demands following our IT Business Collaboration model in “Manage Digital Services” cluster

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • Relevant experience in Operations Management or Field Engineering & Support with focus on SCADA and turbine/power plant control and have developed an holistic understanding of processes and systems used in the service business, ideally from the wind or other service industries
  • Someone who can bring a distinct affinity for IT/OT and Digitalization and understand the basics of agile IT/OT product development
  • Degree in Engineering (B.Eng) or relevant work experience incl. completed apprenticeship/training or certification
  • Passion for wind turbine and power plant operation with experience in commissioning
  • Ability of working well with cross-functional teams in an international company
  • Strong influencing skills and credibility to interact at all levels of leadership
  • Strong analytical skills and process focus
  • Strong English proficiency - orally and written.
  • Experience in Project Management and Continuous Improvement
  • Progressive, flexible and team-oriented person
